My name is Julia Schantz, born in 1999 in Nynäshamn, Sweden. I am currently in my second year of the Textile Bachelor's program at Konstfack, Stockholm. My art explores traditional textile techniques such as weaving, stitch embroidery, felting, and screen printing, but I use these methods in a free and unconventional way. I draw inspiration from the rugged nature and coarse, unrefined materials. It is in these elements that I see beauty, not needing to be refined, but rather appreciated for its rawness. The slow, detailed process is an important part of my creation. In a time when society is driven by constant demands for efficiency and speed, I embrace slowness.
