Thea Olivares Widerström (b.2000) is an artist based in Stockholm. Olivares is fascinated by the meaning and ambiguity of symbols, myths and dreams. She creates images and scenes that can be interpreted in various ways, highlighting the complex nature of emotions connected to personal experiences and the universal themes that unite us. Her work focuses on crafting visual landscapes where layers of meaning coexist, merging symbols and histories from diverse cultural and religious traditions. Olivares work exists in a space between thought and expression, where the lack of complete translation is both frustrating and liberating. Allowing a door open for surprise is something she deeply values. By processing stories and moments that have impacted her, she creates environments where the elusive can flourish. Olivares is currently finishing her bachelors degree in fine arts at Konstfack.
