Albin Borg (b.2000) Is an artist based in Stockholm. His paintings are often characterized by personal experiences, including the upbringing in a small community, art history, and the collection of memories manifested through drawings and archival images, all imbued with emotional resonance.In his artistic practice, he frequently reflect on what it means to listen to history. And strive to maintain an awareness of sociocultural contexts, which informs his work.The examination of socialist worker imagery serves as an example of how Borg seek material that he can later utilize as tools in his painting. Albin aim to perceive time from a different perspective and built this into painting. He engages with episodic memory-events that can be recounted and stored in the hippocampus. Over time, these memories may be forgotten, or they may be transferred to the cerebral cortex, the convoluted gray matter that constitutes the outer layer of the brain. His focus often centers on childhood, on those memories that are etched in my consciousness, including melancholic scenes and traumas. Through the process of painting, these elements transform into signs, movements, patina and mark makings, representing change, within his works. Albin Borg is currently finishing his Master degree in Fine arts at Konstfack.
